Trauma-Informed Therapy

What is Trauma Therapy?

Trauma therapy helps you heal from distressing experiences that continue to affect your mental, emotional, and physical well-being—whether from a single event, an ongoing relationship, or accumulated experiences over time.

Many people think "trauma" only means major events like accidents, loss, or violence. But "little t" traumas—chronic criticism, divorce, medical procedures, or persistent workplace/relationship stress—can be just as impactful and shape how we see ourselves and navigate the world.

When trauma isn't processed, it becomes lodged in our nervous system, creating persistent distress that may develop into PTSD or Complex PTSD.

Trauma may show up as:

  • Feeling constantly on edge or emotionally numb

  • Difficulty trusting others or maintaining relationships

  • Avoiding certain places, people, or situations

  • Overreacting to small stressors

  • Problems with sleep or concentration

  • Negative thoughts about yourself

  • Feeling disconnected from your body

  • Flashbacks or intrusive memories

How Trauma Therapy Helps:

Using evidence-based techniques like EMDR, somatic approaches, and nervous system regulation, we'll help you feel safe in your body again, process painful memories without being overwhelmed, understand triggers, and rebuild empowerment.

Trauma therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and moves at your pace. You don't have to relive your trauma to heal—the goal is greater resilience, peace, and connection.
